MITO MISSIONMitochondrial Disease or ‘Mito’ is a genetic disorder affecting the mitochondria – the ‘battery packs’ in our cells. When they fail to produce enough energy, damage occurs – especially to the major organs.
MARsh ladies choir
Marsh Ladies Choir is a community of 40 singers with a wide age range who love to make music, are known for their joyous sound, engaging repertoire and loyal supporters. And after more than 70 years, there is nothing the choir enjoys more than entertaining audiences with their mix of musical styles from classical and folk tunes, to swing, jazz and songs from the shows.

HUDDERSFIELD MEN's voices
Huddersfield Men's Voices are a group of 40 men who have been singing in Huddersfield for 78 years. They rehearse on a Tuesday evening at the Lindley Methodist Church Centre in Huddersfield. They have a wide repertoire which includes songs from the popular musicals and operas, songs from the traditional male voice choir repertoire and some traditional Welsh hymns.

Many factors are contributing to the rise of food poverty, including national welfare reforms, job loss from the Covid pandemic, the rise of zero-hours contracts, and the increases in the cost of living. The Welcome Centre provides food, toiletries and other essentials alongside a one-to-one advice, guidance and support service tailored to people's needs.

In 1865 the Little Sisters of the Poor opened a Home in Leeds. When the Home could not be adapted to present day needs a Home, Mount St. Joseph’s, was built in Headingly and opened in December 1971.

Curious Motion is a non-profit arts organisation using dance, movement, and creativity to tackle loneliness and isolation in Calderdale. Their work intersects dance and health, with a focus on togetherness and connection for individual and collective wellbeing. They work with people of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular focus on supporting underrepresented groups and those at risk of health inequalities.
This year, Curious Motion will be presenting Welland Festival, an arts for wellbeing festival in the town of Elland. This will be a special opportunity for the whole community to come together, try new things, and boost a sense of pride and togetherness in their area. The festival will be taking place on Wednesday 30th October and will include a range of creative activities and workshops plus special performances from professional and nonprofessional dancers and artists local to the area.
