Our charity concert on 11th May was a great success. The two choirs (Gledholt Male Voice Choir and Marsh Ladies Choir), the young musicians from Musica Mirfield Senior String Ensemble, and our soloist Thom Meredith entertained our audience with some varied music. It was very well received by all. We hope to raise between £3500 and £4000 for - Riziki Children's Organisation, in Nakuru, Kenya - through the UK charity Aenon Trust. Thank you for your support. We are arranging a ‘Gaggia in the Community’ event in May.
The main event will be a musical concert in our local area, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and we have secured the support of some well-known musical groups, who we are already involved with.

There will be a main charity that we shall support this year. However, we want you also to get involved in supporting your own local charities, by getting together as a group of friends. We shall be encouraging and supporting your own fundraising events, while inviting you to support our main charity event as well.

The cost of the main event in Huddersfield is being borne entirely by GAGGIA UK - Caffe Shop Ltd, and any funds raised through tickets sales and fundraising events will go in full to our chosen charity.
You can help our chosen charity by coming to the concert in person or if you are unable to attend in person, you and your group can be assigned a Zoom screen seat, to watch the concert, and make a contribution to our charity.
Why not organise your own event, at the time of the concert. Doors and Zoom open at 2.00pm for 2.30pm start. 11th May 2024. Watch the concert with us.

Gledholt male voice choir
Gledholt Male Voice Choir are a group of 40 men who have been singing in Huddersfield for 75 years. They rehearse on a Tuesday evening at the Lindley Methodist Church Centre in Huddersfield. They have a wide repertoire which includes songs from the popular musicals and operas, songs from the traditional male voice choir repertoire and some traditional Welsh hymns.

Musica Mirfield Senior String Ensemble is part of Musica Mirfield, a music centre with 11 different ensembles which rehearses each week on Friday evenings at The Mirfield Free Grammar School. The centre is open to singers and instrumentalists of all ages and is a happy and vibrant community resource. The Senior String Ensemble comprises students of school and college age, with some adult learners too. They perform regularly at music centre events and within the community and often participate, very successfully, in the National ‘Music for Youth festival.

MARsh ladies choir
Marsh Ladies Choir is a community of 40 singers with a wide age range who love to make music, are known for their joyous sound, engaging repertoire and loyal supporters. And after more than 65 years, there is nothing the choir enjoys more than entertaining audiences with their mix of musical styles from classical and folk tunes, to swing, jazz and songs from the shows.

Thom Meredith is a well known musician in Yorkshire and further afield. He was the former Principal of Kirklees Music School ( now Musica Kirklees). We are delighted that Thom has agreed to be our compere and will also be a soloist.
